What is blockchain technology?

I’ve been reading about digital systems and cryptocurrencies, and I want to clearly understand what is blockchain technology. From what I know, it is a type of decentralized digital ledger, but I’m not sure how it actually works or why it is considered secure. Can someone briefly explain what is blockchain technology, its key features, and where it is used in real life?

Blockchain is basically a digital ledger that records transactions securely and transparently across multiple computers, so no single person can easily change or hack it; each “block” stores data and is linked to the previous one, forming a chain, which is why it’s trusted for things like cryptocurrency, and from what I’ve seen, its main value is in making data more secure and harder to tamper with.

Blockchain technology is a decentralized digital ledger that records transactions across multiple computers securely and transparently. Each record, or block, is linked to the previous one, making data tamper-resistant, verifiable, and ideal for applications like cryptocurrencies, supply chains, and secure data sharing.
