How to read a balance sheet?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to learn how to read a balance sheet but finding it a bit confusing. I understand it includes assets, liabilities, and equity—but how do you actually interpret these numbers in a meaningful way? What should I look for to understand a company’s financial health?

Hey, everybody, I am attempting to learn how to read a balance sheet but it is a bit confusing. To read a balance sheet, start with assets (what the company owns), then liabilities (what it owes), and finally equity (owner’s value). Check if assets equal liabilities plus equity. Review current vs non-current items to understand short-term and long-term positions. Analyze trends, compare periods, and assess liquidity, debt levels, and overall financial stability.
